B2B vs B2C
Who's actually buying — a business, or a regular person.
The simple version
B2B (business-to-business) companies sell to other companies. B2C (business-to-consumer) companies sell directly to individual people. The difference changes almost everything: how the product is sold, priced, and designed.
For example
A payroll software sold to HR departments is B2B. A music streaming app sold to individual listeners is B2C. Same industry (software), very different customer.
Go deeper
B2B sales often involve one big decision made by a small group of people (with a long sales process), while B2C often means millions of small, fast individual decisions — which is why the marketing, sales, and design skills each side needs can look completely different.
Why it matters
Knowing whether a company is B2B or B2C tells you a lot about what a day in that job actually looks like — worth checking before you assume two "sales" jobs are similar.
